Across the United States, juvenile justice systems address many of the same fundamental questions, but they do so through different statutes, procedures, decision-makers, and institutional arrangements. The result is a fragmented legal landscape that can be difficult to compare across jurisdictions.

Hanna Kotyk will introduce the research architecture being developed by Juvenile Justice Innovation Initiative LLC to make these differences easier to identify, organize, and analyze. The presentation will focus on state-by-state statutory comparison, the decision-point audit approach, the Initiative’s current research outputs, and the next phase of the research platform.
