Overview
The protection of childhood in Ukraine is regulated by a complex, inter-sectoral body of constitutional, family, civil, criminal, educational, health-care, social-service, and child-welfare legislation. This article maps that structure and identifies the place of specialized juvenile norms within the wider national legal system.
The study reviews general and special legislative acts, including laws concerning education, health care, youth and children's organizations, domestic violence, and the protection of childhood. It emphasizes the best interests of the child, equality of rights, family upbringing, social protection, and the need to organize fragmented normative material into a coherent legislative system capable of supporting effective protection and implementation.
